Extraction Vs Root Canal
Extraction and Root Canal are two different procedures which are preformed depending on the patient's tooth condition. With Root Canal procedure the tooth can be saved but with Extraction procedure the tooth needs to be removed which can be replaced with artificial tooth.
Root Canal
Root canals can be used to save teeth that have damaged, diseased or dead pulp causing pain in tooth but the tooth bone itself is strong. The pulp is the innermost layer of your teeth, providing healthy blood flow and is responsible for causing pains when they become damaged due to deep cavity or some injury.
Extraction
In some cases tooth can't be saved and it needs to be removed. This could happen if you have a deep cavity that has infected your tooth structure and made it too weak to repair. If your tooth has a severe fracture, extraction may be the best option. A tooth with a crack that continues below the gumline is also a prime candidate for removal.
